Economic and Financial Analyst (Management Consultant)
Location: Sydney, Australia
Do you want to apply your economics, financial analysis, policy, and modeling skills to solve the world’s most complex infrastructure challenges?
- Influence the Australian and New Zealand debates on policy, competition, strategy, and regulation
- Help reduce emissions in developing countries by:
- Assessing the financial and economic viability of low-carbon technologies
- Developing roll-out plans and funding strategies to bring solar-powered mini-grids to remote communities
- Design tariff structures that enable timely, crucial investment by water and energy utilities, while ensuring affordability and simplicity for customers
Would you like to test your skills in a variety of project settings?
- Projects in Australia and New Zealand, but also in developed and developing countries in the Asia-Pacific and beyond
- Large-scale international projects involving multiple economies, as well as small-scale projects that help specific communities or organizations
- Getting direct exposure to present and discuss your insights with clients, including supporting decision-making and implementation of recommendations.

What you will do
- Analyze economic, financial, and policy issues to support client decision-making on infrastructure challenges
- Assess current systems, regulatory frameworks, and organizational approaches to identify gaps, risks, and opportunities for improvement
- Develop clear, practical, and evidence-based recommendations to address complex client problems
- Contribute to reports and proposals that improve policies, processes, and organizational effectiveness
- Work with clients to implement recommendations and support change initiatives
- Present insights and findings to clients in a clear and compelling way
- Support knowledge-sharing and capability-building within teams and with the client.
Who we’re looking for
- A degree in Finance, Financial Management, or a relevant degree
- At least 1 year of relevant work experience or 5 years of relevant work experience is required if no relevant degree
- The desire and ability to learn new things fast
- Native-level fluency in English. Fluency in other languages is a plus
- Work authorization in Australia.
Benefits and Remuneration
This is a full-time position, with a salary range of $77,000 to $85,000, plus superannuation.
