Theodore Ducos

Theo is a Manager in Castalia’s Asia-Pacific Practice. His work focuses on providing high-quality financial analysis and modelling, as well as designing regulatory regimes.

He is motivated by the clarity and understanding that sophisticated economic analysis provides to the process of improving public policy and regulatory systems. He has since sought out opportunities to expand his finance capabilities through the Chartered Financial Analysts program.

While at Castalia, Theo has assisted large utilities such as the National Broadband Network (Australia) and APA Group in submitting complex and innovative regulatory submissions to the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission. He has worked on significant policy projects with the New Zealand Government on designing, costing, and drafting policies, including improving the condition of New Zealand’s local water sector.

Theo has also worked with large private utilities across the Asia-Pacific region, such as Indonesia’s state electricity monopoly and the Manila Water Corporation, to build sophisticated financial models and forecasts of their businesses. Theo previously worked in a government oversight agency and is fascinated by the problem of aligning public and private interests towards the same goal.

If you can instantly become an expert in something, what would it be?

Brain surgery or rocket science. I’m not messing around with anything easy
