Senior Business Development Associate
Location: Sydney, Australia

If so, we are looking for someone to help Castalia win high-value, high-impact work by contributing to our response to procurements from international agencies and governments in various countries. Write, proofread, and edit documents and blog posts highlighting our service offerings and experience. Prepare compelling marketing presentations for our private sector clients and help train other Castalia staff on business development activities. Support with marketing campaigns and social media engagement across all online platforms. Keep our business development information systems and processes updated and continuously improving.
Duties for this role:
- Business Development (90%)
- Respond to business opportunities, including:
- Monitoring and screening published procurement opportunities (i.e., governments, MDBs, private agencies, etc), and circulating relevant opportunities to Practice Leaders
- Tracking procurement timelines, deadlines, and requirements to ensure timely action
- Registering Castalia on procurement portals and maintaining up-to-date vendor profiles
- Reviewing procurement documents (RFIs, RFQs, RFPs) to extract key requirements, evaluation criteria, and instructions
- Preparing Expressions of Interests (EOIs) for suitable public procurement opportunities
- Submitting EOIs via client portals.
- Contribute to proposal development by:
- Drafting company qualifications and capability statements
- Identifying and preparing CVs of proposed team members in compliance with procurement formats
- Assisting with costing and budgeting
- Managing proposal development timelines and deliverables
- Ensuring compliance with all procurement and submission requirements
- Proofreading, finalizing, and submitting proposals via client portals
- Coordinate inputs from internal and external stakeholders throughout the procurement process to ensure quality and consistency
- Manage and update Castalia’s Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and Qualifications (Quals) databases, ensuring accurate and timely records of all business development and procurement activities
- Maintain business development tools, templates, and trackers to ensure information is complete, correct, and current
- Track procurement outcomes and debriefs to inform continuous improvement of future submissions
- Support the development of procurement capability materials (i.e., EOI templates, CV libraries, qualification summaries, etc.).
General (10%)
- Prepare high-impact marketing presentations showcasing Castalia’s service offerings and expertise, for both private and public clients
- Thoroughly understand and clearly convey the established brand voice through all marketing materials
- Craft creative and persuasive content for a global audience using multiple channels, including but not limited to social media, website, blogs, paid ads, and marketing campaigns
- Improving our business development approach by
- Identifying opportunities to improve how we do business development and marketing
- Working with managers and others to develop and implement improvements
- Train and coach others in following our business development approaches successfully
Assist the BD Manager with ad-hoc BD tasks as required

Who we’re looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree in communications or a similar field
- At least 2 years of relevant experience
- Experience in writing, editing, and publishing blogs
- Experience in document preparation, including proofreading and formatting
- Native-level fluency in English. Fluency in other languages is a plus
- Highly proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, with the ability to translate content into compelling and high-quality presentation materials.
We’d love if you have:
- Experience preparing Proposals, preferably for a professional services firm in a public-procurement environment
- Experience with international agencies, such as the World Bank and Inter-American Development Bank
- Proficiency in the use of social media as a marketing tool
- Proficiency in the use of graphic design as a marketing tool
- Experience with website content management and publishing (e.g., WordPress)
- Familiarity with keyword placement and SEO
- Creative thinking
Remuneration and Benefits
This is a full-time position. The salary range for a Senior Business Development Associate is $70,000 to $102,000.
