Vipul is passionate about improving the quality, sustainability, and affordability of infrastructure services in emerging markets using his expertise in private finance and development banking.

Vipul started his professional career at KPMG, then Deutsche Bank and Fannie Mae, before joining IFC. During his nearly 30 years at IFC, he lived and worked in Hongkong, the Philippines, Thailand, and India–including managing numerous infrastructure investments and establishing the South Asia PPP Advisory Service Line of Business. He was also the deputy head of the Global PPP Business in Washington, D.C., USA. His last assignment was an appointment to Global Senior Client Relationship Executive. In this role, he managed key relationships with global financial institutions and private equity groups to source, execute, and manage transactions for impact and bankability in emerging markets.

In addition to his work as a Senior Advisor at Castalia, he co-founded and LEADS an investment advisory firm involved with multiple advisory assignments around impact and sustainability. He is also an independent board member at Banco de Oro (BDO) Unibank, the largest financial services firm based in the Philippines with an asset base of US$75 billion; a board member of one of the largest US-based AND regulated credit unions with over US$6 billion in total assets (BFSFCU)  and VisionSpring—a US-based “social enterprise“ providing eyecare to poor and lower-income segments in developing countries, primarily in Asia and Africa.

Over his career, he has lived and worked across Asia, the Middle East, North and sub-Saharan Africa, emerging Europe, and Latin America. His areas of focus are private equity, blended finance, private investment with an emphasis on emerging markets, and climate change and sustainability.
