Jonathan Walters interviews ACWA about the DEWA 700MW CSP Project

Paddy Padmanathan, CEO of the Association of Clean Water Administrators (ACWA), shares technical details for the 700MW CSP plant in Dubai and explains how it will fit into the UAE’s energy mix.

Mr Padmanathan talks to Mr Walters about how ACWA got the tariff as low as 7.3US$cent/kWh, and addresses what the implications of this tariff will be for other MENA countries, such as Jordan, Tunisia, Morocco and Egypt. Finally, theyl talk about the cost of capital, land and tax, and how CSP stacks up against PV with batteries, or natural gas.
