Marc is a Project Director in Castalia’s Sustainability Practice. He is a finance professional specialized in infrastructure development and service delivery, especially energy and roads, private finance, and public sector improvement.

Marc previously worked in finance at Transurban, a toll road operator and developer. He was responsible for the analysis and valuation of potential investment opportunities, project financing, and other corporate activities for Transurban in North America, and was the Director of Finance for Canada. Marc has also worked at the United States Department of Energy Loan Programs Office, where he helped manage the world’s largest clean energy loan portfolio.

Prior to working in infrastructure, Mr. Pickering worked in financial market research at Gerson Lehrman Group. He helped institutional investors research the impact of legal, policy and regulatory decisions on financial markets, regulated industries, and publicly traded companies.

Marc is passionate about improving the delivery of infrastructure and public services.

I love being outdoors, biking, running, swimming, golfing, running, traveling with my family, and almost all racquet sports

If you could rid the world of one thing, what would it be?

Poverty. I would like to live in a just, prosperous, and sustainable world where everyone can thrive

What has been your favorite place that you’ve traveled to?

It would have to be Thailand. I love the energy, the people, the food, the weather and the beaches
